Ignacio de la Hormaza

I was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica and went to the British School of Costa Rica where I graduated from the IB program, I’m fully bilingual. My father was born in Spain and migrated to Costa Rica where he met my mother. Since I was little I’ve always been exposed to different cultures because of my travels with my parents to visit family around the globe. I grew up admiring how my Dad became a real estate investor after retiring from being a ship captain for 45 years so I’ve always seen houses and real estate as a pathway to financial independence enhancing my analytical skills for deals.

After high school I graduated from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica as a civil engineer and worked full time for almost 8 years in developing large real estate projects from start to finish for BILCO construction company, I was involved in the construction of Avenida Escazu, Escazu Village, Ciudad AlEste, and Solaris Santa Ana. I’m a young driven person focused on providing the best value and experience for my clients, applying all my technical knowledge as a civil engineer (Preliminary studies, Drafts, Designs, Permissions, Inspection, Technical Direction and Operation) to help them make one of the most important decisions of their life which is buying a house or a development property. I’m very familiar with costa rican laws and regulations.

I think one of my greatest assets for the business can be my relationships with influential developers, business people and decision makers and I want to leverage these relationships and contacts into successful opportunities for buyers and sellers in the Costa Rican real estate market. I like to think I’m a humble and kind person who will accept when I don’t know something, but I will quickly ask the best person in the field for learning and advising my clients with the best solution.

I really enjoy nature and outdoor actives such as surfing, hiking, diving and fishing. In my free time I also enjoy traveling to different countries and meeting new people, I like to go at least once a year to the snow and practice snowboarding. For me Costa Rica is the perfect country for living because of its natural beauty, environmental conscience, high-quality education and services and beautiful climate.
